BST10 Mobile – A Closer Look

Today’s AE professionals are more mobile than ever, requiring constant access to essential business information – not only from multiple geographic locations, but also at any hour of the day. In order to meet these anywhere, anytime business demands, AE professionals need seamlessly connected systems that span multiple surfaces, and travel with them as they pursue business opportunities.

How You Work

Our work with AE professionals has helped us understand patterns in how users naturally look to different surfaces and devices to accomplish different types of tasks. Setting aside content consumption (e.g. reading an article or book), users tend to turn to laptop or desktop computers to perform lengthier, more complex tasks that exceed 10 minutes and benefit from a keyboard and mouse. These same users often find tablets well-tuned to tasks of more moderate complexity, taking around five minutes at most to complete; and smartphones well-suited for even simpler tasks that take around a minute. Finally, as smart watches become more widely adopted, we’re seeing these becoming the “go-to” devices for quick transactions and micro-tasks that take seconds to accomplish.

Our Approach to Mobile

Against this backdrop, as we designed BST10 for the AE consultancy of today and tomorrow, we approached BST10 Mobile as a vital piece of the overall solution: the place where AE professionals could go to perform common, simple tasks that are often part of broader business processes that span multiple roles and surfaces in the organization. We designed BST10 Mobile to be used with one hand, typically requiring only one finger to complete tasks, and also designed it to be easy to learn, with no formal training required.
